A Path With Shadows and Light

Here is the third india ink painting I made recently.  I finished it on Monday and am happy with what it shows me.  This world is full of light and shadow both outwardly and inwardly.  We all must navigate territories which are full of light and shadow.  The path is our life as it unfolds before us and fades away behind us.

  1. You said it in your previous post Kimberly it's a matter of exercise and freeing the mind. For me sketching is playing, no goals, just sit and let it come, there will be ones I like and others I don't like.
Children are often very good at that, they don't worry about the result, they use the colors they are attracted to and really step into the image they are creating, no rules, just do it.
I like the drawing with the yellow moon in your previous post, there's a lot of emotion in it, the trees are very much alive. Very nice work!

  2. Thank you so much for your thoughts, Renilde. I've really been admiring and enjoying looking at the work you've been posting on your blog recently. Your technique is very good and your imagery is so imaginative, poetic and dreamlike. Speaking of children (and a lot of artists), they are able to access this place readily...the magical realm. You too take me to this place when I look at your work.

These new tree drawings were born out of a very emotional place and it's nice to hear that they are very much alive to you.
